Caveats when citing public on-chain dashboards
Public dashboards help us spot anomalies quickly. They are starting points, not citations of record.
Lag and reorg handling
Indexers rebuild history after incidents. A volume spike on Tuesday might disappear Wednesday when the provider backfills missing slots. We screenshot with timestamps and prefer providers that publish incident notes.
Label smoothing
Seven-day moving averages hide intra-week governance events. When a briefing covers a vote that closed on Thursday, we pull daily granularity even if the dashboard defaults to weekly view.
Token metadata errors
New SPL tokens occasionally inherit misleading symbols. We verify mint addresses against project documentation before naming them in client-facing text.
Cross-dashboard disagreement
When two reputable aggregators diverge by more than five percent on the same metric, we report the range and explain likely causes—different DEX inclusion rules, for example—instead of picking the friendlier number.
